15gifts becomes Humara

15gifts new brand name Humara with a woman using the AI sales agent for buying Telco products and packages

I’m excited to announce that the company I founded 16 years ago as 15gifts is today changing its name to Humara.

This is more than just a new logo. It’s a new identity that better reflects our long-standing mission to create a virtual sales agent that performs better than a human sales person.

We’re making this change now because we’ve just taken a major leap forward in achieving that mission - launching our highly specialist AI sales agent that mirrors the behaviours, capabilities and psychology of the highest performing human salespeople - identifying and resolving points of friction at all stages of the digital buyflow.

It’s a pivotal moment and exciting time for our team here. Every day we’re breaking ground, driving new optimisations, and watching our product achieve some pretty amazing things for some of world’s leading Telco brands. Now we have a name that matches the magnitude of our future.

We changed the game, so let’s change our name

Over the last two years, we have completely reengineered our solution. We’ve changed the game for our customers, their customers and the future of our business.

It wasn’t that our old tech was broken, it's that our vision expanded. We started life solving one specific friction point in the Telco digital sales journey (choice paralysis), but we thought bigger, we went deeper, we reached across the entire journey and now we solve a much larger problem. We’re humanizing the whole digital sales experience to match (and better) the conversion results from the nuanced sales techniques and intuition of human salespeople.

We’re now able to combat all the friction points across the Telco digital buyflow that cause hesitation, indecision and ultimately abandonment, by reaching the consumer in a way never previously possible in the online experience.

Humara is an AI agent trained and refined by consumer psychologists and top-performing sales professionals, and built around a proprietary sales framework that means it can achieve a level of sales sophistication that is remarkable. We’ve encoded our AI sales agent with the psychology, craft and intuition of the very best Telco salespeople. And the results are incredibly exciting.

In a world full of simple wrappers around LLMs, what we’ve crafted here is a complex compound system of multiple models and tools that work together to power the most sophisticated, and hyper-specialised AI sales agent. One built from the ground up and trained in a truly unique way to fully understand and respond to the complexity of both the Telco sales propositions and product packages and the technical architectures and nature of their data.

15 what?

You see, the name ‘15gifts’ hasn’t made sense for about 15 years now. I’m not afraid to admit that. Let me explain…

Back in 2010 I needed to find a gift for my niece. Long story short, the internet let me down. So I went about fixing the problem and building a solution.

What we initially launched as 15gifts was one of the first-ever conversational commerce experiences in the form of a B2C website. The site delivered 15 gift recommendations to present-seeking shoppers. You see? That’s where the name came from. 15gifts. It was literal. It was functional.

As we got to work honing and refining the most advanced recommendation engine around, we started to get noticed. We had some significant press coverage at this time - which was pretty wild considering we weren’t courting journalists at all. No press releases or PR agencies. Just the product.

From gifting to guided selling

That exposure led us to get noticed by Virgin Media who immediately saw the potential of our product to help them simplify and guide users through the complexities of their propositions to land on a personalised product and plan recommendation.

From here our trajectory unrolled. We found a new focus for 15gifts.

Let's be honest: Telco sales decisions are hard to make. Propositions are super complicated. Purchases are expensive. Commitments are long-term. People need confidence in their decisions, and that confidence is notoriously hard to build online.

There are a hundred reasons people might bail on a purchase or spin on the decision forever. More often than not, when people hit that wall, they reach out to a human who can help. But there has to be a better way - one that doesn’t mean holding for a call center or queuing in a retail store.

There’s got to be a solution to the unparalleled levels of drop off in a Telco digital sales buyflow.

The Telco complexity problem

This a very real, and very specific problem - one we could already ease for Virgin Media with the recommendation engine at the heart of 15gifts, but it was a problem we found extremely motivating to continue to focus on and solve completely.

So from here we went deep, developing a specialisation in Telco sales that no one else can replicate. The 15gifts recommendation engine has been driving considerable incremental sales across leading Telco brands for nearly 15 years now.

And then came AI. Now we’re unlocking a major step-change in how effectively we drive revenue growth for our Telco customers

Goodbye 15gifts. Hello Humara

Now our powerful solution has been brought to life in the form of Humara.

Now buying without humans, feels human.

Now major Telco brands can provide a conversational commerce experience that delivers the same personal touch and sales sophistication as human-led sales channels - but with potentially far greater ROI.

From 15gifts, we are now Humara.

A name that reflects the value we drive and have driven for our major telco customers for many years.

New name. Same specialism.
New name. New power, new potential.

Humara is the future of digital sales performance for Telco brands and consumers alike.

Humara is our future. Humara is now our name.
